Zombie Boy Fashion Show

In a world that adores beauty with long legs, skinny fingers and inked lips it’s not often that someone comes along that rattles the cage of traditional fashion. The latest fashion freak to shake the industry is a man who makes Marilyn Manson look like a wimp. Rico Genest, the full body tattooed model whose nickname is Zombie Boy, made his debut at New York Fashion Week last night. Walking into Lincoln Center, Zombie Boy was surrounded by camera flashes, cell phones and shocked fans who lined up to get pictures of the ‘Modified Model’. As he took his seat front row, the Zombie smiled his wicked smile of approval as drop dead gorgeous models paraded down the runway.

Zombie Boy first made his mark in the fashion world when he was approached by Nicola Formichetti, creative director of Mugler and Lady Gaga’s style guru. Formichetti saw a picture of Genest on Facebook and was immediately struck by the model’s full-body skeleton tattoo. He paid off the teen’s tickets for sleeping in parks and got him a passport so he could appear at the Menswear fashion show in Paris.

Since then, the 32-year-old has become a household name thanks to his morbid body art. He has appeared in numerous music videos and high fashion shows including an ad for Dermablend makeup. A video of him rubbing off his skin to show the makeup has been viewed over 7.5 million times. He has also appeared in several fashion editorials including a black and white shoot for Vogue Hommes Japan and a spread in GQ magazine.

This year, he’s been cast in a cameo role in the 3-D Samurai film 47 Ronin and had his own line of collectible dolls from Tonner Doll Co. He’s even appeared in a short video with Gaga where she acts as his mother and they act as evil incarnate. The Canadian is also the face of Rocawear Europe and has his own line of fashion clothing. His agent has released a statement about his death, saying that the “entire Dulcedo family is in shock and upset by this tragedy.”
