Boy Fashion Designers

A new generation of young male fashion designers is emerging, and these designers are pushing the boundaries of what is possible for young men. The current generation of young male fashion designers is largely influenced by the aesthetics and tastes of the older generation. The recent boom in fashion for young men has led to an increased demand for designer clothing made especially for boys. The trend is especially evident in high-end designer brands. However, not all designers are equally successful.

To create a collection of clothes that caters to both sexes, one needs to have an awareness of gender. Some brands are non-gender specific, referring to their clothes as unisex or retro. Others, like KappAhl, do not have an official stance on the matter. Instead, they base their decisions on the opinion of their employees and want to appeal to a diverse range of customers. For this reason, they create clothes that allow children to play and be children.

Unlike traditional designers, boy fashion designers can also become successful by focusing on the needs of boys and girls. Lindex, founded by Ann-Christine, employs a single man, but has had three male employees in the past few years. Ann-Christine has also created incentives for male designers to have children. This way, the designers can work from the nursery and don’t have to spend a fortune on inspiration trips to Japan. Founded in 2006, Lindex has produced clothing for both sexes and a gender-neutral line is currently being developed.

Lindex Nordstan is a Swedish company that features separate sections for girls and boys. Although the communication material rarely shows girls and boys together, they were able to create a “Right Now Fashion” section for boys and girls. The collection featured bright colours, and girls wore pink dresses with flowers while boys wore blue checked shirts and pants. In addition to the boys’ section, the designers also showed a selection of clothes for the summer/spring season.

The collaboration between these two companies gives KappAhl the best of both worlds. While the collections are similar, KappAhl focuses on girls clothing, while Lindex specializes in boys’ clothing. The latter also has the advantage of selling clothes to a broad audience. They sell both unisex and mini adult clothing. This way, they are able to reach the widest audience possible. And it’s worth noting that both brands offer a large selection of fashionable garments for boys and girls.
